A friend and subscriber to this newsletter, Julian Samarjiev, prompted me to write a poem about the sea. Here is what I came up with, two days later:
Waves
At million different waves
I've gazed.
Each by the same current forms
Yet deforms
While cruising in a harmonious disarray
Ceasing at the bay,
And its water surfaces onto the crest
Of the next.
Though none looks alike to me in guise
I realise
That the waves are waves at their core,
Only alter on the shore.
...
A million different beings
I've seen.
As always, I would appreciate any feedback, comments, or even prompts for future poems. And pass my waves on any friends of yours who would enjoy them!
